Announcing the Winners of the THFCU Photo Contest!
Because the THFCU Calendar Photo Contest has been so popular, the contest was once again held for the 2010 calendar. Since there were even more entries and wonderful snapshots this year, the number of winners was again expanded from six to eight! These eight winning photos are featured in the 2010 THFCU calendar. The winning pictures express the beauty and quality of life in the THFCU Field of Membership (FOM) throughout the months of the year. The THFCU FOM encompasses an area from Lakeside in Duluth along the north shore and inland to the Cook County Border.
We are very pleased to announce the winners of our contest and we congratulate each of them for their wonderful pictures:
LeeAnn Johnson: Cover
Jerry Hostetter: January/February, 2010
Roxanne Distad: March/April
Amber Moore: May/June
Brien Getten: July/August
Diane Hilden: September/October
Jillian Olson: November/December

The calendars are being mailed to people living in the THFCU FOM. Extra calendars are available to the public at no cost at THFCU until the supply is exhausted.
Thank you so much to everyone who entered our photo contest this year!
Don't Miss the Deadline for THFCU Scholarships!
If you have a high school senior in your home and he or she is heading off to college soon, make sure they submit an application for the Two Harbors Federal Credit Union scholarship! The two $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to qualifying seniors at any high school, as long as they or their parents are THFCU members. Equal installments will be paid to the winners over a two-year period. Scholarship applications are due March 31, 2010.
THFCU MALE STAFF DON HIGH HEELS TO WALK AND RAISE AWARENESS AND MONEY FOR NORTH SHORE HORIZONS
Male THFCU staff members volunteered to take part in "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes: The International Men's March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault and Gender Violence." THFCU staff pledged funds and that amount was matched by the THFCU Board of Directors for a total $550 in funds raised for North Shore Horizons' Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Intervention Programs.
According to North Shore Horizons, it's critical to open up communication about sexualized violence. "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" provides an opportunity to get people talking. It helps men better understand and appreciate women's experiences, thus changing perspectives. It helps improve gender relationships and decrease the potential for violence. And it benefits survivors – all "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" proceeds benefit programs helping survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse in Lake County.
THFCU wants to say "thank you" to the staff members who volunteered and pledged money for this important cause!
